Many people go out and choose a car to buy based solely on a handful of factors, such as the way it looks, safety ratings, engine power, handling, and perceived quality . . . and of course, price. However, a handful of cost-conscious and prudent buyers think even a bit further ahead, considering such factors as maintenance costs and the cost of car insurance.

One way to figure out the cost of insurance for each car model you are considering buying is to simply call up your insurance agent and rattle off your list of models. However, that is time-consuming, and it also means you have to keep going back to ask for more information if you get new car model ideas later.

A better way to shop for a car while keeping future insurance premiums in mind is to understand the factors that go into how insurance companies compute premiums based upon differences in car models.

If you are looking for car models with the lowest insurance rates, here are 5 guidelines for finding a car that will save you money on auto insurance:

1. Lower cost equals low insurance premium:

Start by understanding this simple rule: cars that cost less to buy tend to also cost less to insure. So, while the price of the model you are considering will affect how much you pay in monthly auto payments, it will also affect the amount you pay in insurance.

2. Find out how the car ranks in terms of auto thefts:

Quite simply, cars that get stolen more often are more costly to insure. This makes sense, of course: the insurance company anticipates that there is a higher likelihood that your car will get stolen if you buy a frequently-stolen model. This means bigger dollar signs for your premiums.

3. Look at safety ratings:

Cars with more (and more advanced) safety features are always going to garner better safety ratings. And, this will translate to a lower auto insurance premium for you to pay.

4. To save money, avoid sports cars:

Here is another simple rule of thumb for you to follow: do not buy a sports car! Sports cars are usually driven harder and faster by their owners, which means a better chance of getting into a costly accident. And, of course, insurance companies know this.

5. Keep your premiums down by buying a less fun-to-drive car:

Your insurance premiums will also be kept as low as possible if you find a car that is not known for being fun to drive. For example, think mini-vans.

The bottom line is this: you will always pay lower premiums for cars that are less fun to drive but rather that are driven because people have to. Soccer moms driving boring-old minivans with great safety ratings are going to always be cheapest to insure.

Meanwhile, automobiles that are a blast to drive – think a Porsche or a souped-up Camero – are also going to cost you a pretty penny to insure.

Once you understand these 5 guidelines, narrow your choices down to 2-3 car models; then, go ahead and call your insurance agent for comparison quotes before you buy.

Most drivers have experienced anger behind the wheel at some point or another. It could be a response to someone who just cut you off or perhaps to someone driving 50 mph in the fast lane. However, it can get dangerous when these feelings manifest themselves in the form of aggressive driving, tailgating other drivers, erratic driving and making rude gestures or even cursing at other drivers. These behaviors can lead to accidents and even dangerous altercations with other passengers on the road. For me personally, I was more prone to fits of anger in the morning when in a rush to get to work.

One relatively easy way to make your daily commute a bit easier is to leave your house around 15 minutes earlier than you customarily do. This will buy you some extra time in case there is a major accident or if you need to take a detour. One time I left work to only discover that the nearest major street with a freeway onramp was closed off and I was forced to enter the 405 freeway on another street. Not only did this make my route longer but the line to enter the freeway was extremely long and set me back around 15 minutes. Leaving earlier in the mornings leaves room for these type of incidents and will help you retain more control over your situation.

Listening to relaxing or soothing music can also help you enjoy driving more. Jazz and classical songs can help you feel more relaxed and calm. Audio books are another alternative. Taking deep breaths is another way to help you loosen up and shake some of that tension off.

I’ve found that I’m more likely to give in to bursts of anger when I’m feeling annoyed and stressed out in general. There are certain things that you can do in order to improve your moods. One easy way is to exercise frequently. Exercising regularly increases endorphins which elevates mood and it’s a great way to relieve tension. Most people also tend to feel happier and better equipped to handle a long commute after a good night of sleep.

It also helps to be familiar with the streets and general area surrounding your commute. This way you can easily take alternate streets in case one is blocked and you know where all the freeway entrances are in case one happens to be closed off or blocked. I like to listen to the radio while I’m getting ready at home as the station will frequently broadcast traffic updates. I’ve found this quite helpful because it lets me know which areas to avoid and to leave extra early if I know there’s an incident on the freeway.

Remember that you cannot control the actions of others. However you can definitely control your reaction to other people. If someone cuts you off, you can make a conscious choice to not let it affect your emotions. It’s difficult but it is possible. Learning to keep your cool out on the road will help you avoid unfortunate accidents and altercations on the road.

If you’re moving to another state you might be renting a truck and having them meet you at your new house while you and your family will be taking an airplane to get there. It would be different if you’re moving in the same state. You would just have them follow you to your destination.

Moving can be a pain in the neck depending on how big your house is. You may have a five bedroom house that you have to pack up and you might be under a lot of stress because you may be moving to a smaller house better suited for you and your family but the thing that you’re worried about is that the house is a lot smaller than what it is now and you might not be able to fit everything in your house.

You can choose to either start selling things before you move or wait and sell things after you move. Selling your things after you move would be the best option because you would never know everything may all fit but you have to wait and see when you get there.

You should be able to decide on what size moving truck you would think would hold all of your belongings before you buy the truck. After you have everything all packed up it may seem like how you ever got all of your things to fit in the house. You also may decide you would want to have a garage sale to sell most of your things that way everything would at least fit on the truck.

If it seems like you have too many things to be able to fit in the vehicle, then you may have to do some organizing to make sure you can get everything to fit. This may also be after you have already had a garage sale selling the things you don’t really need and can live without.

If you’re still worried that everything won’t fit and you keep stressing out about it, then have some of your things shipped to your new house. That way if everything does not fit, then you will be able to either sell it at that point so it’s not all over your lawn or put it in storage and figure out what to do with it after you have unpacked so you can see how much extra space you have in your house. Who knows it may not have been as small as you thought it was.

It’s very important to make sure that once you move, whoever is driving the moving van knows exactly what time to be at your old house. You’re under a lot of stress between packing and getting your job transferred to your new area. You would rather not have the driver be late when he was supposed to be there an hour ago. That can just stress you out even more and make you more aggravated.

Renting a truck is more usable for when you’re moving, but their could be other things you could be using as well. One more thing about the driver is that it’s a good thing to make sure he’s not a new employee. You don’t want to be the first people he has ever helped move and you especially don’t want a new employee that just came straight out of college driving. Their’s also the thing where if he’s new, then just give him a chance. If he does a horrible job, then let his supervisor know or let him know directly.

Nissan’s GT-R sports car has been added with a number of parts and accessories to enhance its performance and aesthetics. The changes take place as Nissan prepares its 21st century supercar for the next year.

Originally, the GT-R was just a concept car back in 2005, where its original prototype was first shown at the Tokyo Motor Show. Spectators at the time have little clue that the GT-R will be on hand in the market in a short span of time and develop into Nissan’s flagship for the new millennium.

The legacy of the Nissan GT-R is the Skyline and Skyline GT-R models, which for years, have carried the latest Nissan technology for decades. A number of mechanical and aesthetic features from the Skyline have been passed on to the Nissan GT-R. A few of these are its sleek and elegant look and its all-wheel drive. The only difference is the parts and mechanisms that power it.

Being in control of the GT-R provides extraordinary speeds of over 300km/h and thanks to its power to weight ratio of less than 4.0 kg, the GT-R’s worthiness of being a supercar has added a notch to Nissan’s competitive edge.

Changes that come with the 2010 GT-R were completed to satisfy both new and loyal Nissan customers and to comply with Euro 5 carbon emission laws. This will give the GT-R fuel efficiency, more power output and less smoke emission. Fuel efficiency has been a top priority for auto makers and the resolution correlates to a good number of countries, particularly in North America and Europe to lower carbon footprint.

Distinguishable changes to the exterior include double-coat finishes on both front and rear bumpers giving them a brand new appearance. Interior enhancements can be seen on its dashboard gauges where a metallic look can be recognized by its driver. Extra insulation cover the upholstery of seats and wider navigation screen in wide VGA.

The changes to the GT-Rs interior and exterior pales compared to the changes to its mechanical pieces will make would-be drivers of this car appreciate its comfort and responsiveness.

Suspension

Shock absorbing springs on the front have been changed to a much tougher and more flexible springs than its predecessor and the manufacturer has increased the suspension radius rod bushings for maximum and stable ride comfort and easier cornering.

Brakes

The electronic brakeforce’s balance has been adjusted a little backward to provide added stability during braking. The rear brake cross spring has also been improved reducing noise and the rear brake cooling system is increased by a modified air deflector.

Transmission

Enhancements made on the gearbox offers smoother downshifts eliminating stresses on the transmission. Furthermore, the logic controlling torque distribution has reduced rear-axle binding on both front and rear axles. Lastly, a more stiffened front transmission mount is placed to reduce vibration through the driveline when the car’s load is heavier than normal.

Cooling System

Much like F1 and F2 racecars, two NACA cooling ducts have been fitted to the carbon fibre underfloor diffuser. The addition of the NACA cooling system provides additional cooling to the GT-Rs gearbox and exhaust. Gearbox temperatures is also reduced more with a much larger diameter tube that connects to the oil cooler.

If you need a loan to buy your GT-R go to the UK Loan Arrangers site, for unique car articles that you can publish on your site go to www.FreeArticleSite.co.uk.

Obviously you want your young teenager to get as much information and as much learning as possible in. You would want to start checking out schools so you would feel comfortable knowing that your child has the most knowledge about driving safety than any other teenager taking driving classes. Of course you might feel a little uneasy because your child is growing up but driving is all part of that process.

Most states may have different rules and regulations than other states meaning their schools may be different from one another. You wouldn’t want to travel to a different state just to find the best school to take your children to learn to drive. You wouldn’t want to do a lot of traveling just to get into the best school. What you would want to do is try to find the best school that’s local to you in your area.

Their may be only one school that is local to you in your city and you may decide to go to that one because it’s closer. Or their may be a better one that’s in the closest city to you. Think about whether or not you would want to drive your child close to where you are or travel further to get to a better school. The thing you would have to think about would be which one is worth it.

Checking out schools online may be the best way you could get the information you’re looking for. If you feel that searching online may give you misleading information, then you can still get information without clicking on the link. If you search for driving schools online, most searches give you a phone number without having to click on the link.

By calling the phone number listed, then you will be able to call the number and get the information straight from the source. They will also be able to give you directions to their place from your house. As well as they will be able to tell you about the times and dates the classes start, and they will also be able to tell you the duration of the classes.

You may have already picked out the school you want to take your son or daughter to and you didn’t even have to look online, which is good. That means you didn’t have to do any research and you can just go straight to the school and sign up as soon as possible. It may be more convenient for you to schedule classes during the summer so it wouldn’t interfere with school or any after school activities.

All you have to do now is attend your class at the specific time and date that you are scheduled. As a parent you need to make sure that your child is going to have a ride to school and back home. Some instructors in some states may pick up your child at the house and then take them out to drive for a couple of hours and then drop them off at home.

Making the choice to go to driving school for driving safety is an important and very good decision to make. The hard part is letting your child go because now they’re growing up and moving on to different things. To learn to drive, is the first step in growing up and eventually starting their own lives.

Many people decide to buy a used car instead of a new one. The common reason for this tends to be that the person does not have sufficient funds and therefore cannot afford a new vehicle. However, buying a second hand auto does not necessary mean that one will buy a low quality vehicle. This article will help in buying such vehicles and will enlighten the things to look out for.

Before one starts looking for a vehicle he has to think about a few things. Primarily it is important to decide how many passengers one will want to be able to fit in an how much he will want to spend on the vehicle. If one wants to buy an auto for good transport services he will look for very different vehicles. It is also important to find a car that fits to the driving style of the future driver.

Once one has found the perfect model he should research it and find out about as much as possible. This way he can ensure to make a valid judgement when evaluating the price of different sellers. He is also advised to compare models of different sellers. The comparison should look at the state of the auto and it’s price. These sites are usually free of charge so it will not create any additional costs to do this part of the research.

As one is looking for a second hand car warranty might be a big issue. Before signing the deal one should carefully examine the papers of the car in order to ensure that the insurance is valid and was made of the particular car. In case of any doubt, one should talk to the seller and ask him to explain everything in great detail.

Just before taking the keys of the new purchase one might want to check it out. The car should be cleared out, repaired and washed. Also, there should be no minor damages or scratches on the car. If there are any one is advised to try and get a lower price for the car. After that he can quickly fix the minor issues himself.

It is very important to let a mechanic check the vehicle before accepting it. The reason for this is that he can see all the hidden problems an average person cannot. There can be issues with the engine, the breaks or even the wheals. A check by the mechanic that confirms the quality of the vehicle is essential in order to make a good deal.

Not many people do it although it is a very clever thing to test drive a car before purchasing it. This drive should give a person the necessary information about the driving style of the car. One should be prepared to hand over his own keys before the drive as an insurance against theft.

Having read the article, one should not have any problems with buying a used car. Much more information can be found in auto magazines or in other online articles.

Driving to and from work can be extremely tiring and draining. It can also make you extremely angry due to all the inconsiderate and rude drivers out there on the road. Many drivers out there lack courtesy, respect and just good old common sense. I used to have a grueling daily commute on the 405 interstate and here are a few of the worst driving offenders I have personally come across.

Slow Fast Lane Hogger – When I am in a hurry that means I will drive in the lane of choice for all fellow fast drivers; the fast lane or far left lane just right before the carpool lane. This lane is primarily used as a passing lane and slower traffic is supposed to keep on the right. However, I’ve frequently gotten stuck behind someone driving like 45 mph with a massive gap between them and the car ahead. The result is that the entire lane gets backed up for miles with unsuspecting drivers stuck behind the lone slow driver. I am sure the driver can see me in his rear view mirror but he chooses to stay in place and just contently cruise along leaving me without room to pass since it’s illegal to pass on the right.

Entitled Late Merger – This is the driver that will try to get in front of me at the very last second so they can get on the freeway on-ramp. However, they were too impatient to wait in line with the rest of us and decided to speed instead in the other lanes. I find this quite annoying, especially if I have been waiting patiently for my turn to enter the on-ramp and now this driver zooms out of nowhere and just expects me to let him pass? Dream on!

Mr I’m Too Cool For Turn Signals – This is the person who is too self-important and above using turn signals like the rest of us. However, they have no problem driving like a snake in and out of traffic and expecting me to slow down while they cut me off. All cars come with turn signals for a reason. Use them. It’s really not that hard. They are there for a reason and if you don’t use them, that makes you a self-entitled douchebag.

Mr Litter – There are different ways drivers litter. I’ve had the car in front of me throw stuff out of the window such as empty soda cups and had it hit my car. I have also seen people spit out of their window. Either way it’s pretty disgusting. Littering is punishable by a fine her in California. Spitting out of your own car may not be illegal but it’s still in bad taste.

Mr And Ms Popular On Their Cell Phones – You can see these drivers in your rear view mirror having the time of their life laughing and chatting animatedly away on their phones. It’s even worse when they are directly behind you and you have to drive in fear of whether they will hit you or not. Laws are in place for a reason; driving while chatting on a cell is highly dangerous. The only advice I can offer if you’re behind Mr Popular is to change lanes and get out of his way.

Your car tyres should always be in the best condition to ensure you can drive safely in all types of weather. Whilst your car insurance can protect you against loss or damage to your car, it may not cover the cost of damage to your tyres.

Car insurance usually doesn’t cover damage to your tyres caused by braking, punctures, cuts or bursts. This means that the general wear and tear of tyres cannot be claimed for on your insurance and you can’t make a claim if the tyre is punctured, cut or bursts. Since tyres are not usually covered on your car insurance, it is essential that you keep them in good condition.

Tyres provide traction and friction on the road, which prevents your car from slipping or losing control whilst driving. The surface of the tyre is covered in a pattern or ‘tread’ to increase the surface area and increase the traction between your car wheels and the road. If you’re driving in wet or icy conditions this increased traction could be vital when it comes to controlling the car.

A new tyre has a tread of 8mm depth and you should change your car tyres when the tread is worn to below 2mm, or when you notice damage to the tyre surface. If you suffer a flat tyre, your car tyre will also need replacing if it can’t be repaired. By law, car tyres must have a tread of at least 1.6mm depth across three quarters of the tread width, around the full circumference of the tyre. If you take your car for an MOT, for example and the tread is less than this, your car will fail its MOT. In fact, according to the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency, defective tyres and wheels was the reason for a fifth of all MOT failures in 2007.

You can check your tyres are in good condition by regularly looking them over. Just walk around the car and look at the surface of the tyres. You can check that there are no sharp objects in the tyre itself and also measure the tread to ensure it’s not worn down by overuse. You’ll only need to look at your tyres once a month or so before you begin to notice small changes in how your tyres look. You can then take action to protect your tyres just as your car insurance protects the rest of your car.

Although there are collectors of many vintage cars, from the earliest models onwards, the 1950s stands out as the most popular car era. Many cars from that era remain popular with collectors more than fifty years later, but perhaps none as much as the 1955 Chevy Bel Air, one of the most iconic cars of an era. In fact, many collectors – and even others who grew up during this era – consider the ’55 Chevy to be the car that defines the era.

When the 1955 Chevy was made, people were fixing up cars from a generation ago, such as the Model T, as a hot rod or track car. To compete with these improved retro cars, the major car companies had to come up with equally impressive automobiles. Thus, the 1955 Chevy was born.

Though technically the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, today this iconic vehicle is often referred to simply as the ’55 Chevy. The most popular vehicle by Chevrolet at that time, today it is still the most sought after Chevy car for car collectors. While many of the Chevy Bel Air model years remain popular with collectors, the 1955 model was by far the most popular of this line.

The 1955 version was, perhaps surprisingly, not the first model year of the Bel Air. Often, it is the first year’s model that becomes remembered by a generation, but this is not the case with this vehicle. In fact, the Bel Air was first produced by Chevrolet in 1950. This earlier version has a much smaller following today, and did not sell as many models even when it was new.

The 1955 Chevy Bel Air represents the first model year of a redesigned second generation of the line. It introduced many features that would become popular in cars from the 1950′s. One of the things that the 1955 Chevy Bel Air is known for is introducing fins to cars. The fins on the 1955 Chevy Bel Air were actually small when compared to later models. As time went, on fins on cars would get much bigger. In fact it is the huge fins of the ’57 Chevy which make it the only real competition for the most popular 50′s Chevy model.

Such design innovations would continue in the Bel Air line well into the third and fourth generation models. In fact, this car was so popular that it was still sold in the United States until 1975, and in Canada through the beginning of the 1980s. There is no doubt that its longstanding popularity is thanks in great part to the second generation, 1955 Chevy.

Today, the 1955 Chevy is favored among many who grew up in this era and are looking for a sense of nostalgia. Many people also think that cars were made better back in the day, and in some ways, this is true. Many old cars, including the ’55 Chevy, were bigger and had bigger engines, which is one reason people like them. Aesthetically, cars from the 1950s are visually distinctive, making them favored by collectors looking for something that stands out. The 1955 Chevy Bel Air certainly fits that bill.

Like most industries, the car business has suffered over the last few years due to the economic crisis. However, recent reports show that the industry has picked up again within the last year, which is great news for auto manufacturers and consumers alike.

From June 2009 until September 2010, the average price paid per vehicle rose from $23,500 to $27,229. This rise in average transition price can be attributed to higher sales of luxury, larger, and fully loaded vehicles in the past year. In October alone, the percentages of year-over-year growth of higher-end vehicles overwhelmed those of their more economical competitors. Pickup truck sales were also up in October, which is an indication that businesses are heading back into the market for work trucks.

Over the past year, the average transition price has been steadily increasing, and by September it had risen $1,400 from the beginning of the year. Auto manufacturers that are doing significantly better in 2010 than they have been in previous years include Cadillac, Acura, Porsche, Audi, and Lexus, whose sales figures were up 46% this year.

Affluent customers can be thanked for the increase in average price paid per vehicle. They are leading the way back into the new car market, which is a positive sign for the economy and, more specifically, the auto industry. This dive back into the luxury market is likely due to a new attitude among wealthy consumers. Their financial situations have improved from where they were a year ago, and as a result, these customers have more of a disposable income to spend, and feel less guilty about doing so. Affluent car buyers now feel free to go all out and buy that car they have been wanting for a while.

Another factor influencing the increased transition price is new car technology. Buyers today are showing more interest in the expensive extra technology they can add to their new vehicle, including navigation systems, parking aids, and high-end audio. These additions alone can increase the price of the car by a couple thousands of dollars, and they are not only being added to higher-end vehicles. Even consumers who are opting for less expensive, more practical cars still want their new vehicle to be fully-loaded.

Trucks and SUVs have also been making a comeback this year, and accounted for 54% of the market in October. Luxury SUVs and crossovers have both experienced a considerable increase in sales in 2010. Lower gas prices and increased fuel economy on larger vehicles can be attributed to this boost in sales.

Although the auto industry has seen significant improvements in the past year, they know they are not out of the woods yet. While these numbers are certainly promising, they do not conclude that Americans are necessarily heading back in the direction of larger and luxury vehicles due to one major factor: the middle class. Middle-class consumers have not headed back to car lots just yet, as they still have most of their money tied up in other expenses and their disposable income has not increased by nearly as much. It remains to be seen exactly where the U.S. auto market is heading, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

There is nothing more frustrating than being stuck on the side of the road, especially in bad weather. Choosing road service in winter time can provide assistance when you need it most without having to pay upfront for miscellaneous costs. Just one call to an automobile club will pay for itself when you think about the inconvenience of being stranded.

What Do Automobile Clubs Offer

Several different options are available. Before you make your final decision, determine what your needs are and what various companies offer. If you drive long distances regularly but you have a newer vehicle, you may not need the same coverage as someone with an older vehicle. If you are mechanically inclined to handle little incidents like a flat tire you might not need the extra benefits as someone who has no idea about changing a tire.

Auto clubs offer a variety of benefits such as towing, jump start assistance, lockout or lost key assistance, fuel delivery, and flat tire changing are the basics. The number of calls you get each year will vary with each company. Most offer a minimum of three for basic plans, but can go up to six for higher plans. Other benefits may include trip planning, hotel and travel discounts, arrest bond certificates, and even free CarFax reports.

What Is Not Included

While the limitations will vary, most companies allow a present number of calls each year; after that you will be charged. Most do not do repair work, but will attempt to diagnose the problem. Clubs do not normally provide assistance to vehicles that are not registered. Usually the cardholder must be present. Some companies will only tow vehicles to a repair shop or garage and not to the owner’s home.

Finding Automobile Clubs

A quick search of the Internet will produce a number of results. Plan rates differ according to benefits from simple jumpstarts, flat tire, towing to bonus benefits such as trip interruption vouchers, vehicle history reports, concierge service and more. Some companies have plans for RV roadside assistance as well.

How Does Roadside Help Work

Once you have found a service simply sign up and pay the yearly fee. You will be sent a card and important information via the mail. Some companies allow you to download and print a temporary card until your new one arrives. When you need assistance, you call the toll free number, state your problem and location, and a company in the area who has contracted with the auto club will be dispatched to assist you. You will need to show your card and a form of ID once they arrive. If the issue is something like a flat tire or a jumpstart the driver will get you back on the road. If the vehicle needs to be towed, they will tow it to your requested location.

Whether you have a flat tire in your driveway or a dead battery 100 miles from home, roadside assistance can help 24/7. If you have never considered signing up with an auto club, now is the time, especially with winter fast approaching.

Cars often overheat in the summer. If broken down in Ontario call towing Etobicoke or towing Mississauga service that are both reliable, fast and friendly.

There is a lot one should know prior to purchasing used cars in Toronto. Cars, in general, are regarded as a necessity in many parts of the world. When buying a pre-owned car, you have to take special care not to end up with something that does not function properly. There are many places in Toronto where one can find a quality pre-owned car. The cost of purchasing a completely new car over a quality pre-owned car can be quite substantial. And in times of an economic recession, people refrain from buying new cars and will gravitate more towards pre-owned vehicles. With a good pre-owned car you can get a car inside a fraction of the unique price. Turning to a second hand car Greater Toronto area rather will allow you to have the perfect car that will be completely gentle on the wallets. However, before choosing your pre-owned car Toronto, there are many of the things to check very first to ensure what you will obtain is really of fine value.

It is critical that you first look into the dependability of the pre-owned car. Many of the categorized listings provide a history in the car, and you can additionally request the previous proprietor to supply these records. If you actually want to end up being one hundred percent sure you have a reliable vehicle, should bring your own auto technician to complete an evaluation of the car. This is among the initial things you need to do prior buying a car.

When looking for a pre-owned car, you should also consider devaluation value of the vehicle. If you look for a vehicle that is under five years old, you can hold on to more of the value of the car. The older the car is, the less valuable it will be. Pre-owned cars devalue at a much slower rate than new cars. But it is important to thoroughly investigate the vehicle before making a purchase.

You should gather as much information on the operation of the vehicle as you can. This will help when it comes to negotiating a good price on the car. You want to get the best price you can on the car. No matter where you go, the price is always negotiable. Any flaws in the vehicle will give you more bargaining space.

There are many ways to get more information on the vehicle. You can get the Vehicle Identification Number of the car and use that to get all kinds of information such as any major repairs or accidents. With this information, you can get a better price on the car as well as be more informed on the condition of the car. This is very easy to gather. There are many services online that will give you these reports as long as you have the VIN.

Most of these services charge a nominal fee. But there are some that are free, however, the information will not be that extensive. It is also important to look up the value of the car. This information is based on several factors. It takes into consideration the year of the car, the number of miles, the make and model of the car and its overall working condition.

After receiving all the information on the vehicle and once you have taken it out for a test drive, you are in a position to offer a purchasing price. You can take into consideration any problems or faults with the vehicle and get a lower price. It is a good idea to get a mechanic to look at the car to give a full evaluation of is worth.

Used cars in Toronto are easy to find but you must make sure to take your time to find the right car that will suit your needs. Even when purchasing a new car, you should look into the performance of the car and customer service reviews. Getting a car, new or pre-owned, is a major purchase that requires some effort and research to make an informed buying decision.

At this wintertime your car, sports utility SUV or truck may be running “rough”. Typical symptoms are hard starting in cold weather, stalling poor acceleration and ultimately poor if not terrible gas mileage and fuel economy. In these days of ever costly and expensive ever climbing fuel costs we need as motorists and auto owners to do all we possibly can to both keep our vehicles running smoothly and efficiently and as well maintain our gasoline fuel budgets and fuel economy as best we can. You can bet two basic villains are at work robbing your fuel economy and smooth engine performance. These are good old fashioned dirt and moisture. What can the average motorist do to prevent against these enemies of good motoring and reduce automobile maintenance costs?

First of all when it comes to your engine’s biggest enemy in the form of good old fashioned dirt and grime – make it a point and policy to fill up your gas tank early. Instead of letting your gas gauge or low fuel light reminding you when its time to “fill up” or instead when gasoline prices are on special – make it a solid and regular point to fill up your tank early. Though dirt and grime often enters from the bottom of a nearly empty fuel tank at any of various points in your fuel system – expert mechanics and dealership tech service consultants will advise you that by filling up early you dilute these irritants to less troublesome concentrations when filling up earlier. These contaminants are reduced in power and concentration in the fuel flowing through your fuel lines, filters and fuel injection systems. Otherwise if fuel levels are low not only are the particulate counts greater but there is a greater chance of the sediment being pulled through the lines as the only fuel available is the dirty fuel at the bottom of the fuel reservoirs. Furthermore not only do these evil characters have a chance to do their dirty work but also the fuel tanks themselves may be corrode in the tank even more by not only the particles but the corrosive solvents and elements that both they along with moisture may generate and help create and form. To avoid these problems two points – first of all make it a solid practice to fill up your tank earlier rather than later. Secondly as part of your ongoing maintenance schedule and schedules have your mechanic or dealership service tech change any and all fuel filters at least once a year long before they become clogged and clog up with sediment and debris.

Your second enemy and concern when it comes to fuel economy and motoring performance especially in winter time motoring conditions is moisture, condensation and water. No doubt in severe weather conditions as in the northern United States, Alaska and northern Alberta and British Columbia Canadian regions cold weather conditions will definitely affect fuel systems performance. In extremely cold weather conditions condensation in the fuel tank may well cause the fuel line or lines to freeze.

To prevent these conditions and maintain the free flow of gas to your motor keep your gas tank filled up and add a can of gas line “anti-freeze” which is essentially wood alcohol ( methyl hydrate) when you gas up. In many states now gasoline sold is already an alcohol combination either gasohol or even stronger E-15 or E-20 which is even stronger in concentration of ethanol alcohol gasoline pre mixtures.

Hence for better winter driving practices as well as fuel economy and mpg fuel economy fill up early and if you need to add a can of gas line antifreeze.

Many people nowadays are always in a hurry. Many always go to and fro for some reasons like business, family affairs or even just for pleasure. Because of these activities, people find it an inconvenience, highly impractical, and quite a hassle to ride a cab or a bus. Thus, these people realize that they need a car of their own to take them anywhere that they want. But, there are many things to consider in buying your own car. One of these things is the price of the vehicle that you want to buy. Many cars nowadays are sold in very expensive prices thus, making the costumer think twice about buying his own. But if you really need a car but don’t have enough money to buy the expensive types, there are a few things that you should do to find a cheap but still a road worthy car.

Make a budget plan

One should know how much you are willing to spend to have your own car. You should determine how much money you are going to allot for the said venture. It could be $2000 or less. This will make you decide on the quality and kind of car that you are going to buy. And you should stick with your budget plan so you will not end up using the money that is allotted for something else.

Look in your locality if someone sells a cheap car

There could be places in your locality where secondhand cars are sold or perhaps brand new ones but still cheap. Ask a neighbor or look into the ads of your paper. If you find one then it would be great. Since you are going to the car dealer yourself and meet him in person, then perhaps you could persuade him to sell the car of your choice at a much smaller amount.

Check cars online

If there is no car dealer near you or if you have but you can’t afford the price or perhaps you can’t come into a good negotiation, grab a computer and search it in the internet. Many dealers go online nowadays and sell their products in the web. Sites like eBay and other auction sites may help you a lot with your quest. Craigslist is also a good site to find cheap cars in your locality.

Look for local car auctions in you area

If going online still does not solve your problem, then try going to local car auctions. Here the owners will sell the cars to the highest bidder. Here you can find great quality cars with good mileage.

There are many ways of finding cheap cars may it be brand new, slightly used, or used. All you have to do is be patient and don’t stop looking. Always remember that “Rome was not built in a day”. Everything takes little time and a little hard work. You may never know that the car that you might get would be a great bargain for you.

Find cheap used cars online, as well as other cars that all cost less than $1,000 at MyCarForAGrand.

As winter approaches the major concern of most automobile owners is the output of their car or truck’s heater. Will it put out proper and adequate heat? A vehicle’s heater not only keeps occupants in comfort. Properly functioning heaters are essential for motoring safety to defrost front and even side windows from unsafe traffic view blocking windshield condensation, humidity and frost.

If there are two causes of poor heat emitting cold or auto heaters that do not put out any heat what so ever they are firstly not enough glycol anti-freeze in the radiator and engine cooling system and secondly a stuck rad thermostat. What are the steps involved for your trusted auto mechanic to check one of the other or both in order that your car or truck’s interior passenger compartment heater be tested for adequate heat production and distribution?

In terms of anti-freeze and standard ethylene glycol radiator antifreeze solutions in all areas where the prevailing wintertime temperatures drop below the freezing point of water – that is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below zero ( 0) degrees Celsius it is necessary to add an antifreeze solution to the cooling system fluid or fluids.

Otherwise the coolant will freeze solid causing irrevocable damage to the rad, engine block and cooling system. The most standard used solution for anti-freeze in vehicles is an ethylene glycol / water mixture. These commercial anti-freeze solutions come in various concentrations and colors. Color does not matter from differing makers and manufacturers. Strength does. Ensure that a strong enough solution for less than seasonal temperatures or in your geographic areas is in your rad. On top of that ensure that the rad coolant is of a glycol concentration that can withstand lower temperatures of areas that you may travel to. Otherwise expensive rad and engine block damage can result. It is false economy if you only place 20 degrees antifreeze protection to save antifreeze costs when you live in New York City but are traveling to visit relatives come January in Edmonton or Fort mc Murray northern Canada where winter temperatures can hover at – 40 degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. With an inexpensive bulb hydrometer testing device either you or your mechanic can check glycol concentrations in a snap. Play it safe.

The first and major cause for engine heaters not putting out enough heat is low rad fluid levels. Have your mechanic check under the hood in your anti-freeze overflow canister for adequate levels. This is eyeballed on a line on the recovery canister on marker lines indicating min ( minimum or lowest) or maximum ( max or high) mark points for either cold or hot engines. If necessary fluid can be added in a snap. Voila instant heat.

The second main reason for little or low heat is a poorly functioning or stuck engine “thermostat”. If you have no heat what so ever the usual cause is low antifreeze levels in the radiator. If you have some heat but it’s lukewarm and never really gets hot then suspect a stuck thermostat. Thermostats are devices in the coolant water flow areas that open and close based on temperature levels of the coolant liquid, when cold they contract closing the water flow passageway, preventing full circulation and thus retaining coolant fluids in the engine block areas Problems result when the thermostats stay in an “open/ stuck” position. The water circulates all the time to the radiator being cooled by the system never being able to heat up. Imagine driving down the highway or freeway in a cold Canadian winter trip with a stuck radiator thermostat. The engine coolant can never heat up. As result both the engine and coolant stay cool – which may be fine in the hot summer to prevent overheating but not in the wintertime when you may want engine heat and hot coolant to give you comfortable warming heat to the inside of your vehicle , auto heater and defroster.

What is the procedure? Ask your mechanic or auto dealership service tech writer to have the thermostat “checked”. Simply put they will remove it physically from the engine block cooling system. The thermostat will b placed in a bowl or pan along with a thermostat and water covering it. The water will be gently heated. The thermostat will be watched and noted at what temperature it “opens up”: If the thermostat stays in the open or stuck position it will be replaced and you will have “heat” and warmth. Secondly some of the time a “winter” thermostat with a lower temperature opening point will be swapped in to replace a previous working thermostat with a higher temp opening setting so that your engine (and rad coolant) will run warmer and more heat will be outputted from your interior heating system.

Either way if you have a cold interior car or your windows will not defrost either check yourself or have your mechanic check firstly the level of antifreeze in your radiator and cooling system. Secondly if that does not suffice or solve the heating issue or issues have your engine thermostat removed, checked and inspected. Experienced and specialized radiator and auto heater shops will tell you that by checking and testing these two components that the vast majority of cars, trucks and sports utility vehicles will have their heat and wintertime heating problems solved. It’s as easy as that.

The environment is very much in the forefront of the news these days. Terms such as recycling, ecological preservation and non-fossil fuels for energy needs are a major part of the eco-activists vocabulary and are familiar to most people.

Along with the horror stories of global warming, the auto shipping industry is facing serious scrutiny as an environmental hazard. It remains, though, that auto shipping is a valuable service, much in demand and is not going away soon. The industry does bear responsibility for its environmental impact and is taking a hard look at two of the major problems besetting it, those of ground waste and ecological destruction. Let’s take a look at a few of the ways the industry can alleviate some of its environmental dilemmas.

Automobiles themselves are notorious polluters of the air but no one is willing to give them up as they give us greater productivity, convenience and social interaction. Both automobiles and auto shippers are disdained for their harmful gas emissions, oil production faults and conspicuous consumption properties. Being both material and labor intensive, they are also scorned for their distraction from other environmental hazards deemed more important by eco-activists.

The damage done to the environment by automobiles and the shipping of them is not a trivial concern. At the same time there is constant global demand for them. What’s needed is to find a balance between efficient business practices and environmental issues to give people what they want without causing harm to our planet’s natural resources. The major auto shippers have embraced this idea by creating better containers, robust computerized scheduling and advanced inventory management systems to help alleviate the negative impact their industry has on the environment.

The auto industry for their part has brought to the table such eco-friendly advances as hybrid and electric cars. Toyota’s Prius is an early example of this, waking up the rest of the automobile manufacturers to the viability of such an endeavor. The auto shippers might look into taking some of the technology the auto industry has embraced and adapt it to their own usage or use it as a springboard toward further advances that would make sense to their industry.

We homo sapiens are responsible for many of the conditions that harm our environment and yet will not deny ourselves some of the joys and conveniences of our lives that contribute to its destruction. At the same time most of us care deeply for the environment and the future of the planet. We must come to grips with this dichotomy and find sustainable means to support our habits while causing no environmental or ecological harm.

With a clean environment being a common goal, perhaps working together as humankind along with businesses and environmental engineers we can devise some livable and inventive solutions that can not only stop the destruction but reverse it. We owe it to ourselves, future generations and our glorious planet.

Many different categories of toys have historically been viewed as gender-specific. Dolls and toy trucks are just two of the many examples of toys designed with either girls or boys in mind. However, many toys have begun crossing gender lines. Progressive parents have begun allowing their child to choose toys based on their own interests, rather than gender stereotypes. Many toys that have traditionally been designed for boys – toy trucks, for example – are now being designed with girls in mind. Take, for example, the pedal car.

The pedal car has been produced practically since the beginning of the automobile. In the 1930s, little boys drove around red or blue pedal cars designed to look like the real vehicles their fathers drove. Today, pedal car makers produce a wide array of ride-on toys, including gender neutral designs as well as ones that will specifically be of interest to girls.

Some pedal toys have been fairly gender neutral for decades. The plastic Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, for example, has always been a gender-neutral style in red and yellow. Still, even with this vehicle there have been versions throughout the years designed for boys and girls: a police car version for boys, and a pastel version for girls. Today, there is even a Princess version of the Cozy Coupe.

Other pedal toy manufacturers have focused on boy-friendly styles, from police cruisers to black and yellow pedal planes. In recent years, pedal car manufacturers who specialize in classic metal pedal cars have also begun to focus more on designs that appeal to girls. Classic 1950s style hot rods in pink and chrome are sure to please any little girl. Since pastel pink was such a hot color in the 1950s, it only makes sense to pair this traditionally girly color with the car models popular during that decade. What little girl wouldn’t be delighted with a “pretty in pink” model?

In fact, pink pedal cars are some of the most favored designs by those shopping for girls. Whether you favor the 1920s jalopy style, a two-tone ’55 Chevy, or even a pedal plane, pedal toy manufacturers have begun creating pink versions of many classic styles. If your daughter is a girlie-girl, and a bright green or yellow model just won’t do, look towards pink pedal cars for the perfect fit. Every little girl deserves a timeless, classic pedal car.

Even many of the classic designs – some of which have been in production continuously for the past five decades – are gender neutral. Both boys and girls love retro hot rods in bright red or blue. In fact, many would say that aside from pastel pink versions, any type of pedal ride-on toy is gender neutral. For generations, girls and boys have woken up on Christmas morning to find one sitting under the tree, or received one for their birthday with a big bow on the hood. There’s nothing quite like giving your child his or her own set of wheels.

Classic Pedal Cars has a full range of classic pedal cars for the best present a child could wish for!

A penny saved is more than a penny earned. This is more than a good adage to remember when it comes to preventing road side emergencies.

The importance of ongoing regular car inspection and routine automotive maintenance schedules and schedules cannot be overstated or overly emphasized. A moment’s care and attention well placed can save you and your family great amounts of time, money and even anguish. In your glove box or on your computer screen is the automotive manufacturer’s owner’s manual and vehicle maintenance schedule roster.

The automobile maker recommended maintenance schedule that came with your vehicle , or can be obtained from your local dealer or on the corporate website provides a good , solid genuine basis of where to start , how often and how much. You will find listed a simple series of routine checks and waypoints to go by. You cannot go to wrong with that simple list – even if having to negotiate with the dealer network over service and service schedules in a court of law. But really there is no doubt. Owning a car, truck or sports utility vehicle is a responsibility. Costs are great enough with adding neglect to the mix. Having a series of simple routine checks to be conducted at regular and ongoing intervals will simply put extend the life of your automobile and reduce costs overall – whether over the lifetime of the car , per month or per mile measurement and measurements of costs. On top of that not only will you increase and improve auto reliability of service so you can count on reliable transportation but also you will improve your gas mileage, reduce fuel costs. In addition you will reduce those sometimes frequent and certainly costly repairs in these days of high shop labor rates and costly auto part component replacements.

Yet even in the best maintained of cars and trucks it’s an eventuality that accidents or even mechanical failures can occur. It may be on the way to check out a new property in the country during a winter drive that your vehicle slides off the road into a snow covered ditch or culvert. For this reason it’s a wise idea to carry an emergency kit in your vehicle. A cell phone is always a good start to call for help. You should have basic tools, plus essential road safety items such as flares and a fire extinguisher. Add in a solid and checked spare tire repair kit – that is a checked and air filled donut spare tire, jack and wrenches all in place for quick and ready access in the trunk wheel well.

It only takes a moment for a disaster to happen. Sure you can help efforts out by maintaining your vehicle – be it car, truck or SUV well. Follow your auto’s owner’s manual and recommended service schedule to a tee. In addition be prepared with a roadside emergency kit was well. You can never play it too safe. Be safety wise. Safety and good auto maintenance habits don’t cost they pay.

No doubt about it that it’s an old adage or auto repair and car or truck ownership that every one is an expert. No doubt yet there are certain auto safety tips that you can be sure of – to make your auto ownership and basic automobile care and service a trouble free snap. Ten basic auto safety tips are for working with automobiles in the wintertime – whether they are trucks, cars, buses or sport utility SUV vehicles.

1) Take the time and effort to read and even re-read your vehicle owner’s manual from back to front covers for important maintenance, operational and safety information and info tips. Your manual can generally and typically be found in the glove box of your vehicle. Keep it safely and conveniently in place for ready access. If your owner’s manual is missing, when your vehicle was supplied these can easily be replaced at your local auto dealership or even on eBay in these modern internet online times.

2) If you do wish to work on your own vehicle or have some one else who is an amateur do so – fully familiarize yourself with the procedures and safety concerns and procedure as well. In these days and age of highly electronic and technical vehicles and assemblies sometimes it just pays to take the auto repair job to a professional mechanic or specialized auto repair shop or facility

3) When inspecting or servicing vehicles do not smoke or create sparks or electrical sparking. This included leaning under the hood to check a dead battery or using jumper cables to start a non starting engine in the dead of winter. Dangerous hydrogen sulfide gasses linger around charged car batteries. These can spark in a flash causing blinding acid battery fluids to spray. Play it safe.

When boosting car batteries always make the final electrical circuit connection on the dead not the live battery. In addition keep an approved ABC fire extinguisher in your car and shop. Lastly a first aid kit on hand in your vehicle is always a safety first tip.

4) In wintertime if you are going to work on a vehicle – and for convenience and comfort you wish to heat the area or work areas – never use a heater with an open flame or flames. It is better and wiser to use an electrical heater and position the heating source a good distance away from the truck, car or sports utility vehicle.

5) Lastly two tips when working on vehicles in the cold wintertime climate. First do not wear loose clothing, a watch or jewelry when making car repairs. True in cold weather form we offer bundle up and forget that we are wearing additional clothing such as gloves, hats toques and scarves. In addition secure long hair and roll up shirtsleeves. Lastly prevent carbon monoxide CO poisoning in closed auto work areas. Always work in well ventilated areas. No exceptions ever allowed or tolerated. Never run an engine inside an unventilated garage or any enclosed space or spaces.

Overall when working on vehicles in the wintertime the same safety and mechanical concerns must be followed as year round. A moment’s thought and planning can not only get the job done faster and less expensively, its also a lot safer and smarter.

When a commercial driver takes the steering wheel in hand and engages the truck to move, a great responsibility follows. Safety must be the first priority. To ensure the vehicle is in good running condition is of utmost importance, before attempting a trip. The driver must comply with the federal rules for truck safety at all times. Complying with the rules may not always be convenient, but they are mandatory and must be followed to the limit. It is a privilege to be physically and mentally able to drive, with those capabilities, it is also a privilege to follow the rules of the road. Not follow the rules can result in fines and possible loss of licenses.

Training classes are held across the nation for individuals interested in becoming a truck driver. Trainers of such programs are well versed in the regulations and procedures. Test are given to determine the knowledge one has obtained while in the class. In some cases, test are failed as well the testing for the commercial licenses and the individual is sent home for a duration of time. After a certain period it may be necessary to attend classes again. Years ago drivers were not required to spend time in the classes. Learning to drive large equipment was a simple process, learning from observing. New regulation and new federal laws determined that there would be no grandfathering status permitted when obtaining a licenses.

Avoiding the mandatory safety check can be a costly fine and possible points removed from licenses. In order to maintain a safe vehicle, a daily routine is, before moving the truck do the check. Fifteen minutes must be shown on the log book that such an action was taken. Log books are a legal document and should not be taken lightly. They must be completed at the end of the day in legible format.

Trucking companies pay an astronomical amount of road taxes yearly. Taxes that are not familiar to the common motorist, however, the taxes does not merit an attitude of belligerent ownership. Some commercial operators feel they are in charge of the highways because they drive a large vehicle. Considering they are expected to be the professional drivers on the road, more road courtesy should be exhibited. Sharing the road with other motorist often plays a part on patience. Being patient and slow to anger proves to be a more acceptable action at the end of the day.

When carrying hazardous loads, it is compulsory to have the load properly placarded. The placards are necessary to advise the law enforcement and the public if there is another route that must be taken, or if there is a spill, or simply for safety reasons. To avoid using the placards on a load considered hazardous can result into many unpleasant situations. Hazmat paperwork describes the load and must be accessible to the driver at all times. It should be carried inside the cab in the door pocket, or within reach on the dashboard.

Daily log book details are as mentioned very vital to observing the laws that represent transporting vehicles. It must be noted that after a ten hour break, with eight of those ten hours being used in the sleeper berth, a driver may begin his new driving time. Driving time consist of eleven hours only after the ten hour break. A recorded number of accidents have been reported which were due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel. An unfortunate accident that could have been avoided if the hours of service and the off duty time had been used accordingly. It is important to follow the standard log keeping method, and be diligent on a day to day account. A large percentage of a weekly pay check can be lost to fines over one log book error.

The over the road occupation is not an easy job. It deprives one of a social life or developing normal eating and sleeping habits. The regulations set will assist in making life a bit easier while on the road, if only they are taken into consideration. When it is time to shut the truck down and get some sleep, do exactly that. Many times drivers spend an abundance of their sleep time talking with others they meet inside in the restaurant, or they use the time to play video games. When it is time for them to return to work, they have had no sleep or very little, and get behind the wheel. Many accidents are caused by careless drivers. Sleepiness promotes irritation and carelessness which often times involves a mishap. For safety, health wise as well as road wise, sleep is recommended.

Focusing on the big picture, and observing the vehicles in the proximity gives the opportunity to slow down or possibly stop if something ahead suddenly takes place. Keeping a clear mind and observing road signs is a definite way to attribute to truck safety. Many motorist on the road depend on the commercial drivers abilities and conduct. They also expect professionalism and an adherence to road safety.

Buying a used car is a smart decision for many reasons. You can get a car that is as good as new without paying for the depreciation that you experience when driving a new car off of the lot. Cars that are only a year old can be less costly by 20 to 30 percent. You will save money on insurance, used cars are reliable and some are still under warranty. Dealerships sell certified used cars which include warranties and you can trace the history of the car by it’s VIN number, or vehicle identification number.

Selecting a car that fits your budget and lifestyle is the next consideration you must make. Consider a few different cars in case you can’t find exactly what you want that are in the same class. If you are looking for an SUV, you should choose a class of SUV’s to make the search easier. You may not get all of the options or the color you are looking for so prepare to be open-minded. Another important factor to consider is if you want an automatic or a manual transmission.

The car’s value is tied to the year, mileage, make, performance and popularity of it. If you buy a car that is popular you will pay a premium for it. It is best to check car reports to get the blue book value for a car based on fair, good and excellent condition. Hardly any cars are in the excellent range.

Do your research before going out and test driving a car. Look at the consumer ratings, make sure there are no recalls for that year and make of car. Check to see if it is due for major services and ask the owner to show you receipts of work that has been done. Buying a well-maintained car with all of it’s service records will save you a lot of money. Run a vehicle history to show the title records to see where the car has been and if it has been in any accidents, there are a few companies that charge a minimal amount to get this very important information. If you see that the car has a salvage title this means that the insurance company has declared it a total loss after an accident.

Decide how much you can afford, if you are going to be taking a loan out figure the monthly payment in your budget. Also figure how much of a down payment you have to reduce your monthly payment. After determining how much you can afford and how much you have as a down payment then you can search for a car in your price range.

To pay for your car you can use cash, financing through a credit union or bank or through a car dealership. If you pay with cash you can probably negotiate more with the seller. Using a bank or a credit union allows you to keep the negotiation simple, show competitive rates, remove the dealership from financing which will encourage you to stick to your budget.

The most common places to shop for a used car are through private parties, on used and independent car lots. Private party car sales can be found online, while driving down the street or in newspapers. Used car lots can offer trade-ins for your car and also certified used cars that have been inspected. Independent car lots sell cars as is.

When buying a used car, test drive it and have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection if it is the one you decide upon to make sure it’s in good condition. When negotiating for the car know what it’s value is and deduct for things that may need to be repaired. When both parties have decided on a price make sure the title is transferred properly, have the pink slip signed over to you before any cash exchanges hands.

Renting a car when traveling, can make your trip a lot easier. It means that you do not need to drive the entire time, taking time away from the trip. You can fly to your destination and rent a car once you arrive there. There are some things to keep in mind when renting one though.

One thing you have to consider is renting the car from a local car rental company. If you rent the car at the airport, then chances are you will be paying a higher fee. There are the fees charged by the car rental company as well as the fees charged by the airport. It would save you money if you researched the area you will be traveling to. Find out where their local car rental company is located and try to get a car there.

When it comes to rental car, size definitely matters. You should consider your options and decide what type of vehicle you will be needing. The bigger the car, such as an SUV, then the higher the fees are going to be. If not that many people will be in the car, then the economy car will work best for you. Since economy are more affordable, they are in higher demand. It is important to try and reserve the car with plenty of time.

When you get to the rental company, you will notice they provide a lot of accessories that will make traveling easier. One of those things is they will provide you with a full tank of gas, so you do not need to stop an fill up. Another thing that will be provided is car seats, should you need them for your small children. These however, may come at a higher fee, so you should consider if you really need these or you can provide them on your own.

Age is another important factor when trying to rent a car. If you are a young driver, then chances are you will be stuck with higher feels than someone over the age of 25. The rental companies feel that young drivers are a higher risk, therefore higher fees are imposed.

You must ensure that you deliver the car on time. If you return the car later than the scheduled time, then you will be charged an extra day. In order to get the car at its destination on time, do your research before choosing a company. You want to make sure you choose a company who has several drop off locations, making it easier to access one, on scheduled time.

Your driving record is something companies check out before allowing you to rent a car. Make sure you check your record online before making arraignments to rent a car. If your record includes DUI, several traffic tickets or accidents, then chances are you will be denied for a car. It is important to be prepared to have a driver with a clean record in order to get a car.

These are important things that you should keep in mind when renting a car. It can make your trip a lot easier, and even save you a lot of money. Remember that most renting companies will require you pay with a credit card instead of cash.

If you live in the parts of the country where you have to deal with ice and snow for months at a time, you know the importance of winter tires. These wheels, also referred to as snow tires, are what make driving in the snow a little bit easier. They provide extra traction for braking and handling your vehicle more confidently.

Snow tires works well in the cold weather because of the rubber compounds they are made of allow them to remain flexible during low temperatures. The deep tread also provides better stopping power then other tire types. However, to benefit from that, you have to choose the right ones for your specific vehicle model. Your vehicle’s user manual will guide you to the right size necessary for your vehicle.

When you purchase yours, always buy all four at once, not just two. Having only two snow wheels can cause an unexpected spin because two of the wheels have greater traction than the other two. They should all be the same type, do not mix and match different types. They need to all have similar tread, design, and type of rubber in order to work effectively.

Another thing to keep in mind is purchasing separate rims for the snow wheels. This saves you time and money that comes from balancing wheels on rims, which you would have to do twice a year. Once for your winter and then once when you put the all-season back on. By purchasing rims specifically for your snow wheels, you save money in balancing and time in changing them over each year.

A misconception that can be dangerous is that SUV and 4-wheel drive vehicles do not need snow tires. Many believe that the 4-wheel drive provides the safety measure needed for driving on ice, but that is not so. These vehicles help you get started when you are at a full stop and they will help you get around corners easier, but when it comes to slowing down or stopping on ice and snow, they are no better than another vehicle.

When to put them on is a big question. You do not want to put them on too early, yet you don’t want to wait till the last minute or till it is too late. A good rule of thumb is to remember that when the temperature is between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit consistently, then it is time to put them on.

When it is time to store your tires, you want to do so properly. The best place to do this is in a cool and dry area, like a basement or garage. They should be laid flat, they can be stacked but only four high. You can also wrap them in storage bags found at tire dealers. These bags protect them from the natural ozone in the air that causes rubber to dry and crack.

When you have to drive in the worst conditions weather has to offer, you want to do so as safely as possible. That is why it is important to install winter tires on your vehicle at the right time each year. If you are unsure on which to install, consult an expert with your questions and concerns to help you drive safely this winter season.

Buying a car? Well, if I had one million dollars in my bank account right now doubt about it transportation and a vehicle would be right on the top of my list. I would be in the automobile marketplace pronto – Johnny on the spot out prowling for the vehicle of my dreams… So, it is very advantageous to own a car that I dependable and durable. Your family can be assured of a safe travel along the highways that are oftentimes dominated by big trucks and buses. (Most accidents occurring in streets involved small cars and vehicles wherein most often the riders are fatally affected). In order that the car you wish to own is dependable (can bring you to your intended destination 24 hours a day and 7 days a week), it should have a good and durable auto – gas or diesel – engine.

The engine is the very heart of your car and with this you can go to long distances with an efficient engine. If you have the cash and bank account – or good credit then a new car is always best and most trouble free. Vehicles used to be fixable with backyard mechanics and solid easy to repair mechanical parts. Not so today. Most amateur mechanics can do sweet little to repair or even diagnose the sophisticated electronics found on most vehicles on the road. It’s not like the old days with points, distributors and rotors. Everything is sophisticated electronics in a box. Specialized dealers only diagnostic equipment is often necessary to do the job. Electronic parts once purchased and taken out of the electrostatic bags are not returnable to the parts store or dealer. You cannot blame them. On top of that the clearances under the hood are minimal with front wheel drive vehicles and energy saving weight constraints employed in new vehicles. It’s not like the old 1960′s Chevrolet where you had tons of open space on either side or top of the engine to work with. Space is cramped and limited. It’s hard for mechanics to work on cars today. Everything is “a struggle” and once the “body” is opened often experienced mechanics will find other details to work on – since everything is now open and it would cost a large amount to go back in and replace that other (expensive) part or auto component. With a new car you have breathing room of no or few expensive repairs. On top of that most of the these repairs on a new vehicle should be under warranty with no charges or cost to you. With a brand new car, you can free your self from unnecessary worry that usually happened to most second-hand cars, which at anytime, can encounter engine trouble while in the middle of a long journey. The car, especially pertaining to its body components and under chassis should be well set up. The car may last for at least 5 years without burdening you of spending extra amount for the repair and/or replacement of the under chassis and/or the car’s body due to rust.

A diesel-operated vehicle or a gasoline operated vehicle can be a hard choice to make. You just have to weigh the cost of fuel in today’s market for you to make a good choice. Petroleum products are a high price commodity today in the market due to high demand and importation charges. A diesel engine can travel for a long distance with less cost of gas while a gasoline driven vehicle can run also for a long distance but fuel costs are higher.

All in all it’s a good idea to consider a new rather than a new vehicle or truck in today’s high labor rate repair marketplace. On top of that you get transportation reliability. True with a used vehicle someone else has taken the write down and depreciation. Yet with a new vehicle you will get a longer time span before major repairs. You will now the full repair history and how the vehicle was treated and driven from new. This is not the case with a pre owned or one year old fleet (u-drive enterprise) vehicle or vehicles. On top of that many dealers will offer you convenient low payment credit terms with small payments. It’s a buyers market out there on car lots. Consider all of these points before making your auto purchase decision and “signing on the bottom line”.

Anyone who has ever bought a pre owned car knows how frustrating it can be in order to find a really good deal. When looking for used cars in Toronto there are a few things that you should look out for in order to ensure that you get the best value for money when buying a used vehicle.

Some of the steps you can take in order to ensure that you get the best deal is to first look into a few things such as the service history of car, the value of the car and whether or not the vehicle is still under warranty. You also want to test drive the vehicle in order to ensure that it is in perfect running condition and will not give you any hassles a few months after you have purchased it.

There are many dishonest pre owned car dealers but by doing some research you will find just as many honest dealers who will give you an excellent deal on a used automobile. Before buying any car always try to check the vehicles history. This includes finding out whether or not it has been involved in any accidents in the past and whether or not it has been serviced at regular intervals.

Once you have found a car that you have been looking for, you should visit the dealership and inspect the car carefully in order to see whether or not there is any work that needs to be done either on the paintwork or on the automobiles engine.

Other things to look out for are the condition of the cars interior as well as the condition of the tires. Also check the vehicles mileage as you do not want a car that has already been around the clock.

You may also want to consider taking the car out on a test drive so that will be able to see how it performs and if it is in good mechanical condition. Some car dealers will allow you to take the car to a mechanic if you would like to get the vehicle inspected by an independent person before buying it. The mechanic can find any problems and help you decide if the car is worth its money and how much any additional repairs might be.

Many people have paid more for a pre owned car in Toronto than what the vehicle is actually worth and for this reason you must always check the value of the car. By doing research and checking the blue book value of the car you can determine if the car is a reasonable price or if the dealership is asking too much for it. To get the accurate value you will need to know the make and model of the car as well as its mileage and extra features.

For that added peace of mind, ask the dealer where you are planning to purchase the car if they can offer a warranty on the car for a given period so that you know that you can return the car for repairs if anything goes wrong. This will also help you feel confident that you are buying a car from a dealer who is confident about the condition of their used cars.

Looking for a hybrid? Perhaps a minivan is what you need? You can find great used cars in Toronto online!

We could soon see the Pope waving regally from an electric Popemobile, a Vatican source has confirmed.

The leader of the Catholic Church is apparently keen to be seen to encourage environmental driving through his next choice of car.

A petrol-powered Mercedes Benz-M-Class currently takes pride of place in the Papal garage – Benedict XVI smiles benignly from a glass extension at the rear of the car when he is at public engagements.

But Cardinal Giovanni Lajolo says that the Pope would prefer to go electric.

The Cardinal said of the Pope’s green motoring ambition: “If he’s offered a functioning, efficient and appropriately-sized Popemobile, why not?

It would be a demonstration, a sign of his ecological attention.”

It could also be rather pricey. The electric hybrid version of the Pope’s current car retails at $89,000.

Adapting it for papal purposes, and making it bulletproof, would be devilishly expensive.

German based firm SolarWorld has confirmed that it has been approached to discuss the feasibility of an electric Popemobile.

It seems that divine intervention, in the form of security concerns, has scuppered the idea for the moment.

The Pope’s henchmen are allegedly concerned about whether a new Popemobile would be quick enough to accelerate away should someone take a pot-shot at His Holiness.

With electric cars capable of zooming from 0-100kph in three seconds, the Pope’s driver should be able to escape on more than a wing and a prayer on this score.

The Catholic Church is keen to stress its green credentials. News of the Pope’s prayers for a new car was revealed at the launch of a new book called: The Energy of the Sun in the Vatican.

A flick through the book’s pages informs readers of how solar panels were installed on the roof of the Vatican’s main auditorium in 2008.

A year later a solar cooling unit was installed in the Vatican’s main cafeteria. Both these innovations won design awards.

The Pope has also made frequent references in recent public addresses to how people should take care with nature’s resources.

His word will clearly influence millions of Catholics across the globe and might even inspire more people to investigate the possibility of buying an electric car.

So what type of example do other influential world figures set with their choice of car? US president and leader of the free world Barack Obama raised eyebrows with his choice of vehicle at a recent NATO summit in Portugal which discussed climate change.

The fact that he travelled around Lisbon in an eight-ton, diesel-fuelled Cadillac nicknamed ‘The Beast’ did not go unremarked on. Many of the European delegates arrived at the summit in electric vehicles laid on by the hosts to demonstrate Portugal’s commitment to clean energy.

Over in Britain, David Cameron is keen to stress his government’s championing of green cars but, while he is often pictured riding to work on a bicycle, he does not use an electric car for official business.

Perhaps it’s time that world leaders follow the Pope’s example and investigate going green with their choice of car.

Electric JamJar is an Electric Car website focused on promoting Environmental Driving http://www.electricjamjar.com
